Restoration + Meditation + Reiki

This beautiful 90 minute restorative yoga practice will help us balance the yang of summer with the yin of autumn. We'll be reminded to breathe as we utilize the support of props to gently release tension from tight muscles, allow joints to open, and encourage clean energy to flow through. Slowing down and aligning the body and mind while centering the breath will be our focus. Reiki (energy healing) will be woven into the practice for those students who wish to receive deep relaxation, stress release, and prompting natural balance of mind & body. No experience necessary.

Mats and props will be provided at Wildlight Yoga, 4140 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Admission is $25. Pre-registration required. Members receive 10% off.

Crossing Six Corners

Crossing Six Corners

Six Corners is not just an intersection. It's the 1,938 seat theater, built in 1920, where many Northwest-siders watched their first film. It's the furniture store where you bought your first couch, the corner newsstand where your father picked up the morning paper. It's the 5-floor department store where you went back to school shopping all through your childhood years. Today, it's frozen yogurt after ballet lessons, cocktails and brick-oven pizza.

Six Corners is home.

To preserve this collective history and decades of memories and stories, Six Corners Association and Filament Theatre have teamed up to create a dynamic partnership presenting Crossing Six Corners to its local community.

This theatrical patchwork canonizes the history and legend of Chicago’s Northwest Side and the historic Six Corners Shopping District. Through interviews with residents and historians, archived news articles, old pictures, and more, Filament Theatre has developed playful scenes, nostalgic monologues, and creative songs that will fill audience members with love and pride for their Chicago neighborhood.

This event was made possible by Illinois Humanities.
