Rudolf still isn't back from vacation in Hawaii, melting ice is creating lots of fog, and the elves ran out of tin again for the toy manufacturing process.  Santa, he is a very busy guy...but luckily Santa loves brunch! So Santa will come and visit us here at Fannie's on December 17th! Bring the little guys or big guys too and meet the man himself. SANTA comes to Fannie's Dec 17th!

Come to the 3rd annual Winter Market at Copernicus! Here is a small description of some of the vendors and what to expect. First we have Softwave Fish. They are bringing Smoked Salmon the bacon of fish along with yellowfin tuna grilled fillets and cuts. Next is the Little Bison Company. They offer grass fed cuts of bison, beef, lamb, prime pork, fresh eggs and cheese. Wisconsin Cheese. Lastly Maple and Honey farms has everything their name sounds like and that includes honeycombs. Which is actually one of the world's healthiest and sweetest desserts. This is all just a small taste of whats there. More info here

RSVP FOR ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARTY LaVilla's LA STRADA

Join us for our annual holiday party.  This year, we’re mixing things up and going on a field trip! La Strada Dining Room (part of La Villa), 3632 N. Pulaski Rd.  The menu to look forward too: focaccia bread appetizer, salad and bread, bowtie pasta with marinara (vegetarian), roasted potatoes, glazed carrots, cheese pizza, and chicken vesuvio.  Coffee and soda included.  **Cash bar**  As always, we will be collecting new, unwrapped gifts for the Irving Park Food Pantry holiday toy drive. This event will be free to current OIPA members, but we will gladly accept cash donations at the door to help defray additional costs of the event. Space will be limited to 80, so please RSVP by December 1st to oldirvingparkassn@yahoo.com with the # of adults, kids (ages 6 - 12) and wee ones (5 and under).

AN OCTAVE ABOVE PERFORMING ARTS A CAPPELLA

An Octave Above, one of the hottest a cappella vocal groups in Chicago, features eight professional singers who combine their vocal talent with a love of a cappella harmonies. The group of four men and four women will perform holiday favorites along with doo wop, jazz and pop standards. Fine Arts patrons may remember An Octave Above from their crowd-pleasing performance in 2010.  Admission to the concert is free of charge, although donations are gladly welcomed. A special holiday reception with the artists follows the concert, hosted by the Fine Arts Committee. Bring the family!

FLU SEASON IS COMING

 Located in the 11th-floor lobby of City Hall. The Chicago Department of Public Health will be offering flu shots at City Hall. If you are unable to get your flu shot during this time, CDPH is sponsoring several clinics throughout the City.  We encourage you to stay healthy and take advantage of this service. To get you in and out, please complete and bring the attached Vaccination Screening Form. Please make sure to sign the consent and notice of privacy practices acknowledgment line. This year, CDPH is partnering with the Chicago Park District who is offering 200 Parks Points to every resident who receives a flu shot at one of the CDPH sponsored walk-in clinics, including City Hall.
