Irving Park Fine Arts Committee Presents Music For Piano, Oboe and Bassoon

The Irving Park Fine Arts Committee will present a free classical music concert on Sunday, November 10. The committee's 26th season begins with a performance of the Trio for Piano, Oboe and Bassoon by Francis Poulenc. Trio members are Ricardo Castañeda, oboe, Ben Roidl-Ward, bassoon and Beatriz Helguera-Snow, piano.

The concert is at 2:00 p.m. at Irving Park Lutheran Church, 4100 N. Harding Ave. There is no charge for the performance, but donations are gladly welcomed. A reception with the artists follows the concert. For more information, visit carlsoncommunityservices.org.

Free Mariachi Concert- Mariachi Monumental de Mexico

The Irving Park Fine Arts Committee is excited to present Mariachi Monumental de Mexico in the final concert of its 25th season. Noted violinist and Mayfair resident John Ling is a member of the acclaimed mariachi group. The concert will take place on Sunday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. at Irving Park Lutheran Church, 4100 N. Harding Ave.

Founded by five friends in 2010, Mariachi Monumental de Mexico brings the best of traditional and folkloric mariachi music to Chicago and the midwest. Members are from diverse areas of Mexico and the United States and are active educators and ambassadors of mariachi music. Mariachi Monumental de Mexico makes regular appearances at Chicago Bulls, White Sox and Fire Soccer Club games. Mariachi Monumental de Mexico will play a mix of traditional mariachi music as well as popular songs.

The concert is free, though donations are welcome. A reception with the artists follows the concert, hosted by the Fine Arts Committee. The Irving Park Fine Arts Committee is sponsored by Carlson Community Services, a 501c3 non-profit. Its mission is to connect the Irving Park community with programs that enrich lives through education, culture and service. NOIS SAXOPHONE QUARTET

The Irving Park Fine Arts Committee will present a free concert featuring saxophone quartet ~Nois on Sunday, January 28th at 2:00 p.m. ~Nois was formed in 2016 by Northwestern University graduate students Hunter Bockes, János Csontos, Jordan Lulloff, and Brandon Quarles. The quartet will present a diverse program of contemporary classical music, including works written especially for the ensemble. ~Nois will also perform works by Robert Schumann and George Gershwin. ~Nois was awarded the Silver Medal at the 2017 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, the largest and one of the most prestigious chamber music competitions in the United States. 

Admission to the concert is free of charge, although donations are gladly welcomed. A reception with the artists follows the concert, hosted by the Fine Arts Committee.
