IRVING PARK COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY WALK THROUGH OLD IRVING PARK

  • irving Park Community Food Pantry 3801 North Keeler Avenue Chicago, IL, 60641 United States (map)

The Irving Park Community Food Pantry is organizing a walk through the Old Irving Park neighborhood, in the vicinity of the Pantry. The goal is to raise funds for the Pantry and generate awareness for the Pantry’s efforts in our community.

The walk will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 19th. Attendees will begin to assemble for the walk at 8:15. A route of about 1.7 miles through the neighborhood has been mapped out and approved by the city. It should take about 30 to 40 minutes to complete the route. The goal of the walk is to raise awareness about food insecurity in Irving Park. The Pantry will ask walkers to ask their friends for donations. They also can bring food donations, as well as socks or toiletries to add to the pantry’s stocks for clients. School and church groups are encouraged to gather to walk together. Students can earn 2 hours of service time for participating.
